reBalancing the Bronx, Bronx, New York

It’s the Bronx…past…present…future. Our entry sought to close the loops of history, habitat, food and energy by reintroducing the Borough to its history but with the regenerative strategies to meet the needs and values of today and tomorrow. The entry reintroduced the forest habitats of days gone on the streets, in the parks and parking lots, on the rooftops and against building walls. Healthy food, clean water, fresh air, passive energy and social connectivity were at the heart of our solutions to the international design competition Intersections: The Grand Concourse beyond 100. We received honorable mention and were exhibited at Columbia University.

Bell Labs, Holmdel, New Jersey

In an effort to preserve and re-envision the revolutionary Bell Labs, a multidisciplinary workshop was conducted with architects, planners, engineers, landscape architects, historic preservationists, and municipal officials. The outcome was a booklet with a series of concepts ranging from complete preservation as a historically vital facility to complete transformation into a mixed-use village.
