Veterans Park, Plumstead Township, Pennsylvania

“A Veteran – Whether active duty, retired, National Guard, or Reserve – is someone who, at one point in his or her life, wrote a blank check made payable to ‘The United States of America’ for an amount of ‘up to and including their life.” – Anonymous

The Veterans Park in Plumstead Township was designed and installed in a collaborative effort between Township Veterans, Delaware Valley University landscape architecture students and our firm. The ½ acre parcel in the heart of the community was transformed from a simple turf grass triangle to an oasis of pride and respect. Inspired by the yellow ribbon and utilizing native materials, the great lawn is surrounded by lush plantings, a raised lawn and boulder platform and alcoves that honor the five main branches of our military.

The two year long process culminated in the park dedication on Veterans Day Observance, November 9, 2014. The event was attended by 100s of people from our youngest children to veterans of World War II.
